			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>On a beautiful, sunny day like today you probably have your blinds and curtains open. Here’s a tip from Vesta regarding a more typical Seattle winter’s day.</p>
<p>MISCONCEPTION: Keeping blinds and curtains closed on cold days helps keep your house warm and saves energy.</p>
<p>EXPLAINATION: Unless you have exceptionally tight-fitting blinds, heat loss still happens because air continues to circulate behind the blind; you just don&#8217;t feel it because the curtain shields you from the cold of the window. Condensation on windows is often much worse behind blinds, and this can destroy the window frame.</p>
